Snpink’tn Conservancy Society dedicated to preserving the snpink’tn natural spaces for our future generations to come

In connection with PIB’s commitment to:

o their roles and responsibilities as Syilx caretakers of their tmxwula?xw;

o protect and conserve areas of cultural and environmental significance throughout its unceded territory;

o implementing, revitalizing and recovering traditional Syilx knowledge and identity through Syilx culture, language education and land-based learning; and

o upholding its inherent right to lead sustainable Syilx conservation and management practices utilizing both Syilx Traditional Ecological Knowledge supported by western science

OUR PURPOSE

To promote the preservation, conservation, enhancement, or fostering of ecologically valuable snpink’tn lands.

Why? to permanently protect lands of Syilx cultural and environmental significance both on-reserve via long-term leases, and off-reserve via leases, purchases, conservation covenants, conservation easements or other legal conservation protection mechanisms.

How? Through a conservation covenant or a donation of land to the land trust. Snpink’tn will place legal covenants on our lands by entering into a Conservation Covenant Agreement with the proponent which is then registered on the land title and/or Indian Land Registry
