The Gottfriedson Indian Residential School Day Scholars Settlement Agreement was implemented on January 4, 2022 by Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada. This agreement aims to provide a lasting and meaningful resolution for tens of thousands of Residential School Survivor Day Scholars (Day Scholars attended residential schools in Canada during the day but returned home at night). There were four pillars that represent essential components of the settlement aiming to address the historical injustices faced by indigenous communities affected by the residential school system:
The Penticton Indian Band (PIB) seeks a qualified consultant to develop a comprehensive 10-year plan that aligns with Band’s objectives and promotes the four pillars. The successful consultant will work closely with PIB staff, Residential School Survivors, Community, Elders, Youth and the Four Pillars Society to create a strategic roadmap for the future. The following Four Pillar as provided by the Four Pillars Society:
1. The revival and protection of indigenous languages of the Bands
2. The revival and protection of indigenous cultures of the Bands
3. The wellness for the communities of the Bands
4. The protection and promotion of the heritage of the Bands

To prevent the deposition of deleterious substances on PIB IR#1 the Penticton Indian Band is requesting services to construct a series of short fence lines including 8-foot-tall wildlife fence, three strand barbed wire fencing and chain-link fencing with double-wide gates. These fences will prevent illegal garbage dumping and trespass. The PIB Request for Proposal (RFP) process invites qualified PIB members and businesses to submit competitive bids for project works as stipulated below.
