Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and management of various community assets owned by the Band. This department manages community infrastructure such as buildings, parks, roads, sidewalks, multi-use pathways, and the Okanagan River channel. Preserving the quality and safety of these assets for the benefit of the Penticton Indian Band and the wider community.

The focus, priorities, and goals of the Public Works Department are centered around ensuring the ongoing maintenance of existing infrastructure while working closely with other departments within the Penticton Indian Band to ensure that their work aligns with the Band’s overall goals and priorities.

The Public Works Department plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the community’s infrastructure and services. The service, dedication and hard work of our Public Works team comes from their pride in serving the community all while ensuring that the Band’s assets remain safe, functional, and beneficial for years to come.

The Public Works Department is part of the Infrastructure Division, responsible for ensuring that the PIB community develops in a sustainable way that is underpinned by safe and reliable public infrastructure. Infrastructure is composed of several departments, including Engineering, Planning, Housing, Public Works, and Utilities. Infrastructure plays a critical role in the long-range planning and infrastructure development of PIB’s reserve land.
